Close-Up Foot Skin Removal With a Scalpel - Toe Pinch Callus and Heel Medi PedYep, I'm back again. In this video, I scalpel blade my annoying big toe pinch callus and scrape my hard heel skin away. I always use good foot cream when blade scraping. It allows me to feel for lumps and bumps and glide over the skin's surface. (I use Gehwol Fusskraft Blue in this video) Big Toe Pinch CallusRemember: big toe pinch callus is usually caused by a jam-up in your big toe joint. This means that it's stopped from extending up when you walk. As a result, it twists off to the side. Then you get callus! Your big toe is like anywhere else on your foot (or body) exposed to extra friction. It'll throw down more as a protection mechanism. The best example of this is your heel. (Here's a video removing this with a Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file) Hard Heel SkinHeel callus is super common. It's from your shoes rasping either the ground or the back of your shoes. Callus here is a creeper. It starts off as something that looks better after a shower and ends with deep cracks. The best way to deal with it is as it happens. In other words, apply cream as and when the tell-tale flour-like dusting appears. Almost no one does this though. That's usually when they come to me to remove it with a blade. ScalpelsScalpels come in a range of shapes and sizes. Each suits a different task. For example, a gouge blade is perfect for little corns. A 15-blade is great for finicky bits of hard skin between your toes. The number 10 blade I use in the video is superb for foot skin smoothing. One thing they all have in common is they're exquisitely sharp! This means there's very little room for error, unlike foot pedicure files... Foot Pedicure FilesFor the vast majority hard skin - heels, toes or anywhere else - you get the same effect as a scalpel with a good file. The big difference between a scalpel and a pedicure foot file is the effort. What I mean is: most people underestimate how much filing is actually needed to get rid of thick foot skin. (Out of preference, I use a Gehwol wooden file) Pinch callus floats away fast. Deep heel fissures need a more dedicated ritual. Use urea foot cream before and after. Women (Have Worse Feet Than Men)Yep, and it's all down to ballet-tight footwear. Fashion is an integral part of your life. Society says so — like corsets. But it's not only shoes and buying apparel online is a double-edged razor. You can access stuff you'd never see down your McHigh Street for sweatshop prices. Then it rocks up and looks (or fits) decidedly different from advertised. If you've got Amazon Prime, use Try Before You Buy. You can order six items (including shoes, kids and men's clothes) and cavort in front of a mirror trying them for 7 days. You only pay for what you decide to keep. (Returns are free). Close-Up Foot Skin Removal With a Scalpel - Toe Pinch Callus and Heel Medi PedThere's a lot of Podiatrists that balk at the idea of a medical pedicure aka medi pedi.
I find this hilarious as they're performing them whether they acknowledge it — or not.
